and 5 extra pounds of turkey and stuffing later...

I am back!

Pitiful, I know. I basically steamrolled over the foodiest of all the foodie holidays without so much as word of advice or a word of encouragement when it came to planning your Thanksgiving menu. In my defense, I did not do much of the cooking at all. What I did make was the pumpkin pie. Not without, of course, my pie making buddy and nephew Drew.

The pie was a success and the reason I believe is threefold:

1. I only use fresh sugar pumpkins in my pie.
2. They are made with the culinary skills of a Kindergartener.
3. And this recipe for pie crust.

It is exactly what it says in the name: fool-proof. And the secret ingredient is vodka. It is so wrong that it is right. And yes, all remaining vodka should be consumed in a chilled glass with 2 olives and a splash of juice to make it dirty. Responsibly of course and sans Kindergartener.
